How to get rid of oily skin?

I've tried LOTS of product to get rid of my acne! I've tried Proactiv, Clean%26amp;Clear, Neutrogena 3 step system, and lots more. Now I'm trying AcneFree and it's week 4. If it does not working within a month, then I will stop using it. I have oily skin. My sister says that you can't get rid of oily skin, you can only decrease the oiliness. Is that true? Does Neutrogena oil free combination skin work? It says it help control oily area. Will it work? Please help. How to get rid of oily skin?
This is a more common problem for women with dark hair. It's true that you cannot change the physiology of your skin, however there is some good news and things you can do with it. Oily skin is problematic when you're young, but as you get older, you'll likely look younger than others your age, because of your oilier skin, as we produce less oil with age and therefore experience more dryness, causing wrinkles.

Right now, you'll want to control the accumulation of oil on the surface of your skin. You said you've tried Proactiv, but have you tried the oil control lotion? It's very good. The proactive line also has blotting papers which suck the oil from your skin, giving it a more matt finish. You can keep them in your purse or pocket and blot as you need them. Then apply a blotting powder or translucent powder to soak up any oil until your next blot. By using an oil control product (the Neutrogena is good too), combined with these will be your quickest and most effective solution. It's important to blot before you powder or your skin will collect too much powder and look chalky. Good luck. How to get rid of oily skin?
Be mindful, too, that some products can actually increase oil production as the glands get irritated and out of whack. Some soaps can cause breakouts.

Carbolic soap I think is pretty good--usually in with the natural products.

maybe give the skin a rest for a while to let it re-balance, and use those blotter papers--they really work to absorb excess oil (I think Body shop sells them still?)

What a pain! I bet anything it will change as you get older
instead of buying blotting papers you can just go into the bathroom and use those paper liners that you put on the toilet and blot your face it works great to get the oil off your face its the same as blotting papers and you can just take a bunch of those from the bathroom and cut them up into squares and keep them in your purse so you can use them whenever you need them. it sounds weird but its the same material at blotting papers and its free!
It can take a long time to beat acne. Keep using AcneFree - it might take 2 or 3 months to really have an effect. And wash your face two or three times a day (with a gentle cleanser if the AcneFree isn't supposed to be used that much). Go to a dermatologist. They have different treatment options that can help you.
yeah sadly you cant get rid of oily skin it sucks!! i have that really bad and i use that nutregena combination skin stuf and i personally REALLY like it!!! my skin does get a little shine at night but theres nothing you can do about that it just happens but its not the greasy shine.
Your sister is right. You cannot get rid of oily skin. Try washing your face with Cetaphil. It works like a charm! It removes all the oil! Also, blotting sheets work as well! Try getting both. They remove the excess oil.

Hope that helped!
